Medieval old towns & scenic coastline

A journey along the Montenegrin coast that connects the vibrant atmosphere of Budva with the quiet, historical remains of Old Town Bar. This excursion is designed for those who want to see the most iconic landmarks of the Adriatic side—from the medieval walls of Budva and the world-famous view of Sveti Stefan to the abandoned stone streets of Old Bar.
Modern Life, Adriatic Luxury & The Silence of the Past
This experience connects three completely different worlds: the modern, youthful energy of Budva, the world-class luxury of Sveti Stefan, and the quiet, abandoned stone streets of Old Bar. This is a journey through the heart of the Adriatic, where we take the time to enjoy the most beautiful coastal views without any rushing. It is about understanding Montenegro while simply enjoying the journey.
What Will You See?
The tour follows the scenic Adriatic road, offering constant views of the sea and mountains while we explore the most significant landmarks of the southern coast.
Budva: The Modern Soul of the Coast
We begin in Budva, a city that balances its ancient roots with a modern, youthful spirit. Known as a place full of life and energy, you will have time to explore its medieval Old Town, where narrow streets open into lively squares filled with Mediterranean charm.
Sveti Stefan: The Peak of Adriatic Luxury
Next, we stop at the most iconic viewpoint in Montenegro. Sveti Stefan is the most luxurious destination on the Adriatic, a fortified island-village that has become a symbol of high-end elegance. We take a break here to enjoy the panorama and photograph this unique blend of history and exclusivity.
Old Town Bar: A Witness to the Past
Our final major stop is Old Town Bar, a place where time seems to have stopped. Unlike the living towns on the coast, this is a quiet, abandoned stone city that serves as a silent witness to centuries of history. Walking through its ruins, you can feel the layers of different civilizations that once called this fortress home.

-
A Balance of Three Distinct Worlds: This tour connects the modern, youthful spirit of Budva, the world-class luxury of Sveti Stefan, and the historical silence of Old Town Bar in a single day. It offers a comprehensive view of how the coast has evolved, covering the most iconic and worthwhile landmarks without feeling like a checklist.
-
The pace is flexible, allowing more or less time at each stop depending on your interests. An optional traditional local lunch can also be included at the end of the tour.
-
Lunch can be included as an optional stop during the tour. We usually recommend having lunch in Old Bar, as it fits naturally into the itinerary and offers a much better selection of traditional restaurants than the modern town.
If you would like to spend some time in the modern town of Bar instead, we recommend doing so after the tour. It is only a few minutes from the cruise port, making it easy to explore on your own. You can enjoy a walk along the promenade, visit King Nikola's Palace, or try some local ice cream before returning to your ship.
Please note that the cost of lunch is not included in the tour price.
-
The price you receive already includes the time planned for the tour, including any agreed stops and activities, so the extended duration is already taken into account.
There is no need to rush — the experience is meant to be relaxed, with enough time to enjoy each part of the day.
Please note that the cost of lunch is not included in the tour price.
If anything additional is arranged during the tour beyond what was planned, the price will be explained at that point.
-
We work with private tours because that’s the only way our approach makes sense. With private tours each guest is treated with respect, as an individual, not one of many. The focus stays on your energy, interests, and questions, at a pace that feels natural.
We adapt to you, not the other way around. -
The starting price is 150€ for a group of 2 people. For larger groups, the price is adjusted depending on the number of participants.
Once you decide which activities you would like to include, you will receive a final price based on the full plan of the tour, with all costs clearly listed.
-
The tour can last anywhere between 5 and 8 hours, depending on the options you choose and how you want to spend your time.
It can be kept shorter if you are limited with time, or extended with a lunch stop along the way.
Each tour is planned based on your request, so you will receive a custom itinerary adjusted to your interests and available time. -
his tour works best in smaller groups, as it allows for a more comfortable and flexible experience throughout the journey.
-
Our goal is to let you experience Montenegro through the eyes of a local guide who knows the country from the inside, while enjoying a relaxed atmosphere that encourages questions and personal interaction throughout the journey
-
We recommend starting as early as possible. It usually means less traffic, more time to enjoy each stop, and less time spent in the car. In many cases, an early departure saves 30–60 minutes of driving, and on exceptionally busy days, sometimes even more.
-
The meeting point is where the cruise shuttle bus drops you off, just a few minutes from the port. We also finish the tour at the same location.
After your booking is confirmed, we will send you all the details, including the exact pickup point and time, so everything is clear and easy.
For additional convenience, you will also receive the guide’s phone number, in case you need to get in touch on the day of the tour.
-
Booking is confirmed once we agree on the plan, availability, and pricing. You’ll always receive clear information before anything is finalized.
-
Payment is made in cash on the day of the tour. All details are agreed in advance, with no hidden costs or surprises. ATMs are easy to find if needed.
-
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we simply ask that you let us know as early as possible. We usually send a short reminder before the tour as well, to keep things clear and avoid misunderstandings.
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, you will always be informed as early as possible. Because we work with a limited number of private tours and focus strongly on quality, this situation is very rare. If it does happen, we will offer an alternative solution if available. When possible, we also try to provide a goodwill gesture for the inconvenience.
-
Tipping is not required, but it is always appreciated if you enjoyed the tour.
If you feel the experience was valuable and memorable, a tip is a nice way to show your appreciation. -
Walking time is approximately 1 hour at a minimum, although most guests comfortably spend 2–3 hours walking during the tour.
The most demanding part is Old Bar. Because it is built on a hillside, exploring it involves many steps, uneven stone paths, and worn cobblestones. We recommend comfortable walking shoes, and the tour may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
-
Check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. Wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on uneven surfaces.
If it’s hot, don’t forget to bring water, sun protection such as a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, as there is limited shade during the tour.
-
The tour can still take place in most weather conditions, with adjustments to the plan if needed.
-
If you are staying in Bar or another part of Montenegro, rather than arriving by cruise ship, there is much more flexibility. Without the time pressure of a ship's departure, we can organize a custom tour, visit destinations that are further away, and adjust the itinerary to your interests and pace.
For guests staying in Montenegro, we can usually meet at your hotel, apartment, or another agreed location, making the start of the day as simple and convenient as possible.
